The advice we have received from the emergency planning team at Wiltshire Council and Keep Britain Tidy is that litter pick events should not go ahead if there is any doubt about the safety of participants.
The latest information we have from the Met Office is that the recent cold weather will continue into the weekend, with day time temperatures struggling to reach zero and a significant wind chill making it feel much colder.
Snow is widely expected throughout the county on Thursday and into Friday, with widespread accumulations of 2cms and 5-10cms across higher areas. The low temperatures mean that any snow fall is likely to still be on the ground into Saturday and Sunday.
Whilst this is disappointing, we think safety of those taking part must come first at all times. The Great British Spring Clean weekend has been rescheduled and will now take place between Friday 23 - Sunday 25th March.
We will let you know our Tidy Town plans nearer the time but please do come and join us later in the month.
