After months of refurbishment, the Market Place works have been completed and today saw the weekly market back to its home. Next year's will be a challenge to make the Market Place look blooming' lovely with all the new planters, basket hangers and the roundabout which is in need of a makeover. Watch this space... A massive thank you to Julie Cannings, who at 06:00 yesterday spent an hour having a tidy up and filled 5 carrier bags of rubbish in The Woody at Queensway.
It's the Melksham South West in Bloom AGM next Tuesday 7th Nov at 7pm in the Town Hall.
Why not pop along and join the group in celebrating the GOLD award for the town. An action packed AGM is planned for this year to include: • The presentation of awards to all of the ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ winners. • Kathy Iles, Chair of Melksham South West in Bloom will share what the group have been up to over the last year; the high’s and low’s along the way, the groups involvement with the BBC and some exciting projects planned for 2018. • Guest speaker and former Melksham resident, Denise James from South West in Bloom HQ, will be talking about the competition followed by some Q&A. • There will be an opportunity for you to get involved with the group going forward into 2018, share ideas, give suggestions or just sit back and listen! Come and help clean up the Woody park in Queensway. Litter picking, cleaning play equipment, cutting back bushes etc. If time and resources available, sanding the 'parrot' and painting. Some basic equipment provided, but please bring anything you have that you think would be useful. Please wear appropriate clothing, footwear and gloves.
