The Purple for Polio Crocus Cross is looking gorgeous and the daffodils blooming in churchyard and cemetery.....
Waitrose Corner has been an eyesore for some time with weeds, brambles and rubbish from people too lazy to find a bin. Richard spent several hours on this gorgeous Sunday tackling this and filled 6 bags with rubbish and tidied up shrubs and bushes. A lot more work required, but a brilliant start, well done Richard, great job.
If anybody wants to help with this area or any of our other projects, please message for details..... Carl spent time in the garden this afternoon and has completed one compost bin, planted a shrub if front of the bin and carried out some tidying up - great job done Carl.
Kathy and Vanessa have spent whole day on the town inspecting street furniture etc. Time for Bloomers to get busy again before the hot weather!
In the last week Ruth and her faithful companion have been busy in town with secateurs and litter picker. Firstly she cut back the brambles by Petstown and then litter picked to the Nature Reserve and then swept and picked up debris in Place Road. Thanks Ruth, a great job done. Super hero's always welcome!
Kathy and Linda spent time in POW today after Kathy had finished work. A lot of blanket weed was removed from the pond and some lilies added. Earlier in the day Vanessa and Liz and been litter picking in king George V Park. With the lighter nights we will be able to start getting more done. Must get longer gloves next time, the pond wasn't that warm and the rubber gloves soon filled up!
Carl joined the students this afternoon and under his supervision another border was dug to plant more roses on other side of pergola and a lot more pruning was carried out. Great job guys...
As I was unable to see the students at work today, I popped along after work. Another great afternoons work. The new entrance gates have arrived as well.
