Carl spent 2½ hours in the garden today working on the water feature, attempting to strengthen, refurbish and make the water shoots water tight. Carl has got the liner as well, so looks like a project to do with the Lackham students next week.
Busy in the Friends Garden today, I popped there in my lunch-break, Ruth has been doing a fantastic job getting rid of a lot of the woody debris and Carl was busy in the water feature (see separate post).
Carl met up with the Lackham students again today. They continued with clearing/cultivation of border, pruning and removing low growth on mature trees, started renovation of water feature and watered recently planted shrubs.
Went to see the garden in my lunch-break and photograph everything that had been done yesterday by the students. Terri was there planning her next weeding session.
Lackham Students work with Bloom Project Manager Carl, planting this mornings plant purchases - 8 Tiarella and 2 Heuchera. Weeding was also carried out. After plant shopping with Terri, Carl planted them in the 2 garden beds. The extra roses are: Ruby Wedding, Special Anniversary, Bride & Groom, Diamond Day, Silver Anniversary, Warm Wishes, Peace, Whisky Mac, Remember Me and Indian Summer. Also Heuchera Lime Marmalade and Heuchera Peach Crisp. Garden is going to look gorgeous.
Richard braved the elements today and fenced off Bloomers Corner, which in the past had been sadly neglected and overgrown and is now a Bloom improvement project.
