After this mornings photo call, Bloomers Kathy, Terri, Vanessa and Ruth went down to Blenheim Care Home at Shurnhold and spent 3.5 hours weeding the beds. Incredible job done this morning, still more to do, but what a great start. Well done ladies.... (pic below beds prior to work)
Market Place photo call this morning for this week's Melksham News and Wiltshire Times. Missing from the photographs the Melksham Town Caretakers who have done such an incredible job this year and we are all proud to be working together to make Melksham look so fabulous.
Stephen & Basil and members of Avon Bowls Club after this mornings newspaper photo call to celebrate winning GOLD for their lovely colourful grounds....
Brookside have maintained their brilliant garden to get Gold again this year. Fabulous job done by everyone involved. Keep up the good work.
I was very proud to collect this award on behalf of Avon Bowls Club from Lady Emma Fellowes. This was the first time the Bowls Club had entered, what an incredible job Stephen has done creating the beautiful garden round the grounds. Huge well done.
Melksham Bloomers were proud to collect certificates on behalf of the IYN's from Lord Julian Fellowes. Congratulations and well done to all of you. See images below. These certificates will be presented at SWIB Melksham in Bloom AGM on Tuesday 5th November, 7:00pm, Melksham Town Hall.
Richard has been responsible for re-defining the Roundabout and the Town's planters and hanging baskets. The roundabout has been stunning this year with the 3D Bee and inspired flower beds. He does lose a mark for trying to water be as well!!! Richard you are totally awesome and florally Melksham is most definitely on the map!
Ruth joined the Bloomers last year in the run up to judging, this year Ruth's contribution has been invaluable. This year Ruth have Bertie have single handily kept The Friends Garden and Bloomers planters well watered and maintained. This was a rare glimpse of Ruth this morning watering the trees in Church Street, generally Ruth takes Ollie her dog for a walk at 5:00, then does the watering etc. I award Ruth "Super Bloomer" status, but I will be in trouble for the photograph!!
Richard continues to keep the bee and roundabout looking so colourful and enhancing the Market Place
Avon Bowls Club entered as a SWIB IYN this year in the Leisure, Commercial & Tourism class for the first time. Wishing them good luck at next months Award Ceremony at Newquay.
The Bear won a second in this year's Melksham in Bloom competition for Best Hanging Basket/Planter for a Commercial Premises. Looks colourful all year round, well done to the Wetherspoons chain.
Melksham Bloomers Kathy, Ruth and Vanessa have been busy today at Shurnhold, having a blooming good weeding session on the pavement outside Blenheim House Care Home. Great job girls...
Mr Zebedee has been busy this morning - watering when I went to work and by time went for my lunch, grass had been mowed and all the beds tidied, fabulous job Richard...
