Great job done by Melksham Bloomers this evening, who have made a start on planting up our lovely War Memorial Garden in Canon Square and also in the Prince of Wales Garden (separate post). The rain, although needed came a little early!
After planting in War Memorial Garden, the Bloomers moved to the Prince of Wales Garden and carried out more planting and some pond maintenance. Great job done & massive thanks to everybody who turned out.
I had just home from work and saw the report on Facebook from The Wiltshire Wildlife Trust regarding the vandalism at Melksham's lovely Conigre Mead. I went straight back out to see the gut wrenching damage. What on earth goes through peoples minds?? New bench wrenched from ground, another old bench, timber and young trees set fire to and the bark stripped off a tree. Lots of litter strewn around. I sincerely hope the Police find these mindless morons. So angry....
The Lackham College year 1 foundation students are continuing to do a great job and making good progress with the Riverside Walk Restoration Project. Keep up the good work.
The Jo Bayliss Garden at Waitrose, Melksham Littlebrook Centre is taking shape for 2018 and looks stunning already. Jo is very talented and exceedingly creative & shows just what can be done in a town centre space. If anybody has an ideas or wants to help the Bloom Team with continuing to enhance Melksham Town, message on this site or join us at the 1st Wednesday in a month meetings, 6:30pm Assembly Hall.
The Lackham College foundation students have been busy again this afternoon, progress continues on the riverside path restoration work. Great work guys!
Jo Bayliss, who does such a wonderful job of the Waitrose Garden in the Littlebrook Centre, deservedly receiving her 'Enhancing Melksham Award 2017' award from Mayor Cllr Adrienne Westbrook at last nights Annual Town Meeting. Well done to everybody who won an award.
